Errol Musk revealed that his son, the billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, has shown keen interest in acquiring Premier League football club Liverpool.
“Oh yes, but that doesn’t mean he’s buying it. He would like to, yes, obviously, anybody would want to. So would I,” Errol Musk said, and added: “I can’t comment on that. They’ll raise the price.”

However, an FSG spokesperson refuted the reports, telling the Associated Press that there is “no truth to these rumours.”
Liverpool FC are owned by Fenway Sports Group (FSG), who have previously welcomed external investments, although they haven’t officially announced any intention to sell. In September 2023, they sold a minority stake to Dynasty Equity, an American investment company.
At that time, the FSG president, Mike Gordon, had said, “Our long-term commitment to Liverpool remains as strong as ever. We have always said that if there is an investment partner that is right for Liverpool, then we would pursue the opportunity to help ensure the club’s long-term financial resiliency and future growth.”
Under FSG’s ownership, Liverpool has regained its position as one of Europe’s elite football clubs. The team secured its first Premier League championship in three decades in 2020, following their triumph in the Champions League the previous year.
Currently, the club sits atop the Premier League standings.
