Elon Musk’s partners — past and present — have made their feelings about Musk’s inauguration day speech known in public. The speech went viral for more than one reason — for how Elon Musk danced around the stage, giggled in joy and then made a salute which according to him was a ‘my heart goes out to you’ thing but was seen as a Nazi salute by many.
Shivon Zilis, a Neuralink director, and also the mother of Elon Musk’s three youngest children was there at the event with Elon Musk. She shared the speech on her X account and wrote a part of Elon Musk’s speech as caption. “There need to be things that inspire you. There need to be things make you glad to wake up in the morning and say, “I’m looking forward to the future”,” Shivon wrote and he shared Elon Musk’s post of his speech.
Elon Musk’s ex-partner Grimes, the Canadian singer, with whom Elon apparently had a custody battle, said she denounces Nazism and the far alt-right.
Grimes was called out on X for not issuing any statement of Elon Musk’s ‘Nazi salute’. Grimes responded to the criticism and said she did not know what happened and did not want to make a rash statement as she is not even a citizen of the US.
“I am not him. I will not make a statement every time he does something. I can only send love back into a world that is hurting,” Grimes said and then came up with a statement hours later.
“I’m happy to denounce Nazi-ism – and the far alt right. Would that help clear things up? I’ve just gotten out of breakfast and have to catch a flight, and am still debating how to approach things diplomatically because I feel in over my head. But if there’s concern about that, I am happy to set the record straight in a meaningful way,” Grimes said.
