DRDO successfully tests Nag Mark 2 anti-tank guided missiles in Rajasthan

NEW DELHI: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on Monday succesfully conducted the field evaluation trials of the Nag Mark 2 anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM).
The trials of the third-generation ATGM took place at the Pokhran firing range in Rajasthan, in presence of senior Army officials, according to the defence ministry.
“Field evaluation trials of indigenously-developed Nag Mk 2, the third-generation anti-tank fire-and-forget guided missile, were successfully conducted recently at Pokhran field range in the presence of senior officers of the Indian Army,” it said. During the three field trials, the missile systems destroyed precisely all the targets — maximum and minimum range, thus validating its firing range,” the ministry said.

The evaluation also included testing of the updated Nag missile carrier version-2. The ministry further said that the entire weapon system is now ready for induction into the Indian Army.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO, Indian Army and industry partners for the successful field evaluation trials of the complete Nag Mk 2 weapon system.
