Delhi elections: AAP releases campaign song 'phir layenge Kejriwal'

NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday released its campaign song “phir layenge Kejriwal” for the upcoming assembly polls, featuring the party chief as the son of Delhi.
The 3.9-minute campaign song talks about AAP government’s work on health, education sector and also highlights welfare schemes like free water and electricity for the citizens of the national capital.
“This song will be a hit. Our slogan was ‘phir laayenge Kejriwal’ and this song also conveys the same. This song will reach every house and people will make Arvind Kejriwal win with a huge majority,” said senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh.

The Delhi assembly election is picking up heat, with the AAP, BJP and the Congress locked in a fierce triangular contest.
The AAP and Congress party, which fought together in the Delhi Lok Sabha polls, parted their ways and decided to go solo against the BJP in the assembly polls.
The high-octane triangular political battle for the upcoming polls is expected to reshape the political fortunes of three major parties and several leaders. Though BJP has named candidates only for 29 seats and Congress too has declared contestants for 48 seats.
The ruling AAP has declared list of all its candidates. Several top AAP functionaries, including party chief Arvind Kejriwal, incumbent Delhi CM Atishi and ex-deputy CM Manish Sisodia, have their job cut out with the two opposition parties – BJP and Congress – naming heavyweight candidates against them.
The most interesting of the contests will be played out in the New Delhi assembly constituency, known for the bungalows of top politicians, bureaucrats, judges and industrialists in Lutyens’ Delhi and where a large number of govt servants stay.
Former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal is pitted against the sons of two former chief ministers. Congress has fielded Sheila Dikshit’s son, Sandeep against Kejriwal, while BJP has reposed its faith in Sahib Singh Verma’s young and aggressive son, Parvesh.
Amid growing political tirade over the polls, the Election Commission is set to declare dates for the Delhi assembly election at 2 pm on Tuesday.
