NEW DELHI: Ahead of the upcoming Delhi assembly elections next month, police seized Rs 47 lakh in cash from a car during a routine check in South Delhi‘s Sangam Vihar, officials reported on Tuesday.
The vehicle, driven by Vaseem Malik (24), a local resident and self-proclaimed scrap dealer, was stopped by the Static Surveillance Team (SST).
Malik failed to produce valid documentation for the cash, leading to its confiscation.
Authorities are now investigating the origin of the money and taking further legal action as per protocol, officials added.
