Day after rape conviction, self-styled Christian pastor Bajinder Singh faces sexual exploitation charge by 2 women | Chandigarh News

Amritsar: A day after he was convicted in a rape case by a Mohali court, self-styled Christian preacher Bajinder Singh was on Saturday accused by two more women of abusing and sexually exploiting them.
The allegations came to light on Saturday, when the women met the officiating jathedar of Akal Takht, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargajj. A press release issued by the Akal Takht secretariat confirmed this and said the women accused Bajinder, who calls himself a pastor and a prophet, of subjecting them to abuse and sexual exploitation at his dera. The release mentioned that FIRs were already filed by the Punjab Police regarding the matter.
The victims alleged that despite the FIRs, they were being threatened and intimidated, as the police did not take action against the pastor for a prolonged period. Consequently, they approached Akal Takht for assistance.
Expressing concern over the delay in action against the pastor, Gargajj asked the Punjab govt to take immediate and stringent action against the accused and ensure the safety of the two women. The statement added the jathedar praised the women for their bravery in coming forward and assured them support. He encouraged the women to put their faith in Guru Sahib.
Later, speaking to media, one of the women, who claims to be the woman seen in a viral video in which Bajinder is allegedly hitting someone, said that after meeting the jathedar, they were confident of justice. She said they sought help from several people, some of whom assisted, while others ignored them. The woman added that she attended Bajinder’s church for over 10 years and did ‘sewa’ at his dera for the past six-seven years.
