BATHINDA: Farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal was shifted to a specially designed makeshift tractor-trailer equipped with modern amenities, like AC, glass windows for natural sunlight and a soundproof door on the 58th day of his hunger strike at Punjab’s Khanauri on Wednesday.
The shift came following delays in the preparation of a larger 20-foot by 8-foot room to ease medical attention to Dallewal. He agreed to receive medical care after Union agriculture ministry’s joint secretary Priya Ranjan sent a letter inviting farmer leaders to a meeting in Chandigarh on Feb 14 with Central and Punjab ministers.
