MUMBAI: After a bitter war of words between Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray and CM Devendra Fadnavis over the last couple of years, Saamna, the Sena (UBT) mouthpiece on Friday praised CM Fadnavis for his visit to Gadchiroli at the start of the new year and announcing plans for enhanced infrastructure and industrial development, aimed at improving the region’s social harmony and bringing modern amenities to its people.
An editorial in Saamna titled ‘congratulations Deva bhau’ said ‘if the current CM wants to give Gadchiroli a new identity of ‘Steel City’ instead of ‘Naxalites district’, this should be welcomed’.
However taking a dig at the law and order situation in Beed after the killing of sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, the editorial said, ‘if the rule of the guns continues in Beed but the rule of the constitution is coming to Gadchiroli, then CM Fadnavis deserves praise’.
“CM Devendra Fadnavis started work in the new year and for this he chose Gadchiroli district. While many ministers in the cabinet were stuck in the trap of getting lucrative portfolios and the guardian ministership of a specific district, CM Fadnavis reached Gadchiroli and started a new era of development in that Naxal-affected district. CM Fadnavis spent the first day of the new year in Gadchiroli. Not only spent it, but also laid the foundation stones and inaugurated many development projects. Dedicated some projects to the public. Speaking at that time, he referred to the new era of development of Gadchiroli. If whatever the CM says is really going to happen, it will be positive not only for Gadchiroli but for entire Maharashtra. Especially for the common people of Gadchiroli district, the poor tribals, this day will really be a turning point,” the editorial stated.
“If the current CM has decided to change this picture in Gadchiroli, we congratulate him. The previous Guardian Minister of Gadchiroli had also taken many trips there on a ‘motorcycle’.
However, it was openly alleged that his trips were only for the sake of increasing the percentage of certain mining magnates rather than the development of the tribals there. However, it seems that the ‘potential Guardian Minister’ Fadnavis will do something new in Gadchiroli, will change the lives of the tribals there, overall,” the editorial stated.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the efforts made by CM Fadnavis in advancing the all-round development of remote and Naxal-affected areas, particularly in Gadchiroli district. In a post on social media platform ‘X’, Modi expressed confidence that Fadnavis’ visit to Gadchiroli at the start of the new year would bring positive changes to the region, improving the lives of its citizens.
