The tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce had an average run on the field this season but his team has already entered the playoffs. His girlfriend, the billionaire global pop star, Taylor Swift’s popularity apparently had an effect on the Canadian economy and boosted the tourism and hospitality sector of the country. As per the data released by CoStar, the revenue per available room saw a 10.8% jump in the month of November as Taylor Swift performed throughout November and finally wrapped up her Eras Tour in Vancouver, Canada in December.
Taylor Swift’s Influence In Canada
Laura Baxter, CoStar Group’s director of hospitality analytics for Canada, issued a statement that highlighted Taylor Swift’s impact on the hospitality industry. She said, “Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour was the main source of improvement in November, with downtown Toronto averaging room rates of $779 over the six-night period. These strong rates showed up in the national segmentation data as well, with transient and weekend rates growing 11.5 percent and 12.1 percent, respectively. Luxury hotels benefited the most, up 19.3 percent in the metric.”
This shows how much people put in effort to see a glimpse of Travis’ girlfriend, Taylor Swift. This phenomenon was not just limited to Canada though. As per reports, many Americans even flew to Europe to catch a glimpse of Taylor Swift since American tickets seemed a bit expensive.
It looks like Taylor Swift is currently the most popular global pop star across the world. As per reports, the Eras Tour was highly successful and generated a revenue of $2.2 billion. Taylor toured across the world to perform. Unfortunately, one show of hers got cancelled in Vienna back in June of last year when it was confirmed that her concert might suffer from a terror attack.
Taylor Swift Is Currently On A Break And Spending Time With Travis Kelce
Taylor’s boyfriend, the NFL star and the tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs also became a part of the Eras Tour. Not only was he spotted at many of Taylor’s concerts, grooving to her songs and having fun but he also made a surprise appearance at one of her concerts. In June of 2024, Taylor was performing in London at the Wembley Stadium when her boyfriend, Travis shocked the audience by suddenly appearing on stage. This has become one of the most memorable moments from Taylor’s Eras Tour.
After wrapping up the Eras Tour on 8th December in Vancouver, Canada, Taylor has taken a break in her career and has not yet announced her new project. She is currently in her $50 million apartment in New York City where she is spending her break with her boyfriend, the NFL star, Travis Kelce and some of her close friends.
Travis will be spotted on the field when his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, enters the playoffs.
