The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued show-cause notices to 29 schools across India for breaching its affiliation bye-laws. According to an official press release, the CBSE conducted unannounced inspections at these schools on December 18 and 19, 2024, to assess compliance with its regulations.
Upon reviewing the inspection reports, the board identified significant violations of CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws in the majority of the schools inspected.

Taking a firm stance, the CBSE has served show-cause notices to these institutions, requiring them to submit written explanations within 30 days.
“CBSE has taken serious note of these violations and issued show-cause notices to all 29 schools. Each school has been provided a copy of the inspection report and directed to submit their replies within the stipulated 30-day period,” the board stated in its notice, as reported by TNN.
The inspections were carried out in various cities, including Delhi on December 18, and Bengaluru (Karnataka), Patna (Bihar), Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), and Ahmedabad (Gujarat) on December 19.
In a statement to press, the CBSE emphasized its dedication to maintaining the highest standards of education and its zero-tolerance approach toward regulatory breaches. The board affirmed that it would continue to take stringent action against institutions that fail to adhere to its bye-laws.
“The CBSE remains steadfast in its commitment to upholding the highest standards of education and will continue to take stringent measures against any violations of its regulations,” the notice stated.
