CHITRADURGA: A fatal accident on Tuesday morning claimed three lives, including two children, on NH-150A — between Challakere and Ballari — near Bommakkanahalli Majid of Monakalmur taluk in Chitradurga district. CCTV visuals show the car hitting the highway divider, and rolling over 15 times non-stop.
The deceased are Moula Abdul, 35, who was driving the car, and his two sons, Rehman, 15, and Sameer, 10. The accident left Moula’s wife, Salima Begum, 31, his mother, Fatima, 75, and another son, Hussein, with serious injuries. Police have shifted them to Ballari VIMS Hospital.
The family, originally from Yadgir, was residing in Bengaluru where they worked as labourers.
Police reports said the vehicle was travelling from Bengaluru to Yadgir when the incident occurred. PSI Mahesh Hosapete conducted an inspection at the accident site, which falls under the jurisdiction of Rampur police station.

In a separate incident, A dentist, aged 35, lost his life when the SUV he was travelling in collided with a stationary truck near Sulibele, on the outskirts of Bengaluru, on Thursday morning. The driver was consulting Google Maps whilst operating the vehicle at high speed.
Police identified the deceased as Dr Amar Prasad from Hyderabad. The other occupants, Dr Pravalika and her spouse Venu, also Hyderabad residents in their 30s, sustained injuries in the incident.
According to police officials, the SUV, driven by Venu who received minor injuries, overturned thrice after hitting the parked truck whilst travelling from Devanahalli towards Sulibele.
The incident took place at approximately 10am on Satellite Town Ring Road during a period of light traffic. The truck driver had temporarily left his vehicle on the roadside whilst taking a refreshment break.
The force of the rear-end collision was substantial, resulting in extensive damage to the SUV and the immediate demise of Dr Prasad. The group was en route to visit a temple in Palani, located in Tamil Nadu’s Dindigul district.
