Watch: How Sydney Cricket Ground pitch is shaping up for India-Australia fifth Test

NEW DELHI: As India and Australia gear up for the fifth and final Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Sydney Cricket Ground from Friday, the pitch curator gave an update on how the track is shaping up.
On Wednesday, the official X handle of Sydney Cricket Ground shared a video in which the curator Adam Lewis says, “So we’re two days out now, getting to the final stages of the prep. We’ve taken the covers off this morning, given it a cut about 7mm and giving it a nice roll today, nice pressing, really happy where it’s at.”
Lewis continues, “Giving it a little flick of water, it’s very hot in Sydney today, so we’ll just keep the moisture there just at the top. And then tomorrow, we’ll do a little bit more heavier rolling, take a little bit of the colour out, then we should be ready to go for the third (morning).”

With Australia holding a 2-1 series lead, India now need to win the Sydney Test to draw level and retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
From 1947-2021, India have played 13 Tests in Sydney, winning only 1, while losing 5 and drawing 7 games.
