JHUNJHUNU: The body of a patient, who was admitted to a private hospital, was found on the roof of a neighbouring building in Jhunjhunu on Monday.
According to sources, Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Hetamsar, was admitted to Aaruni Multispeciality Hospital on Jan 23 due to a liver infection. On Monday, he was not found in the ward. The hospital administration informed his family who reached the hospital. They accused the hospital administration of neglecting the care of the admitted patient and began searching for him. When they couldn’t find him, they tracked his mobile location, which pointed to the hospital. Subsequently, Kumar’s nephew Aditya and son Lucky came to the hospital. They went to the roof and found Kumar lying dead on the roof of the neighbouring building, sources said. The hospital administration and police were informed. Family members and the hospital operator arrived. A crowd gathered following the news, and people started protesting, demanding action.
The family sat on a protest demanding action against the hospital administration. On Tuesday, the protest ended after persuasion by Kotwali police station officer Narayan Singh Kavia. The family agreed to file a case against the hospital administration.
After the family’s agreement, a post-mortem was conducted at the govt BDK Hospital, and the body was handed over to the family. An investigation has been launched.
