JAMMU: Union minister for road transport and highways, Nitin Gadkari, on Sunday said the newly constructed 4-lane, 2.35km-long bypass to Banihal town on the Ramban-Banihal section of the national highway will open for 4-lane traffic within 15 days.
“Initially, 2-lane traffic will be released and 4-lane traffic shall be released after junction development within 15 days,” Gadkari posted on ‘X’.
The minister also shared some aerial photographs of the bypass, built at a cost of Rs 224.44 crore.
Netizens reacted to Gadkari’s post with one ‘X’ user, Iqbal Wani, posting: “Really a wonderful job! Hope the other patches will be cleared at the earliest. Thank you, Sir, you truly deserve a salute for this remarkable achievement.”
