'Arrested right man, have enough evidence': Mumbai cops give big update on Saif Ali Khan attack case

NEW DELHI: Mumbai Police on Tuesday held a press conference giving updates on the attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, who was stabbed multiple times in his own house.
Mumbai Police ACP Paramjit Dahiya addressed the media stating that “enough evidence to confirm that they have the right accused.” On behalf of the police, he also dispelled rumours that the fingerprints did not match the accused. The spokesperson said, “no such reports have been received by them,” while confirming that have sent the fingerprints to CID.
Further talking about evidence obtained from Saif Ali Khan’s residence, the police said that they have “physical, technical and oral- they have all three types of evidence”.
Also, clarifying certain concerns on the timeline of the attack the ACP said that, “Lilavati Hospital’s CCTV shows that the victim was brought to the hospital at 2.47 am,” after being questioned over the reports that claimed the time to be 4.11am.
The violent attack on the actor took place on January 16 at his home in Bandra, during which the assailant demanded Rs 1 crore and assaulted both a nanny and the actor with multiple stab wounds before escaping. The 54-year-old performer required immediate surgical intervention at Lilavati Hospital after the attack.
