JAMMU: Alert Army personnel opened fire at a Pakistani drone spotted hovering in Indian airspace along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district early Wednesday, forcing it to return. A search operation was launched in the area later in the day to trace drone-dropped narcotics or weapons, if any.
“Army troops noticed the drone around 1am and fired nearly a dozen rounds at it, following which the drone returned towards Pakistan-occupied Kashmir after hovering briefly over an area near the border fence in Mendhar sector,” said an official.
Searches continued till the time of going to the press.
