NEW DELHI: Government on Friday notified amended rules for Aadhaar authentication, expanding its ambit to government and private entities for providing services, which is set to enhance the scope of residents in availing seamless access to e-commerce, health and travel & tourism services.
Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance (Social Welfare, Innovation, Knowledge) Amendment Rules, 2025, was brought in to promote ease of living and livelihood, and help service providers and seekers to have trusted transactions.
“Those seeking authentication need to apply with details of intended requirements to ministry or department concerned in a format being made available on portal. These will be examined by UIDAI, and MeitY will issue approval,” government said.
