LUCKNOW: A day after Congress functionary Udit Raj invited BSP’s expelled national coordinator, Akash Anand to join the grand old party, BSP chief Mayawati on Friday asked people to be wary of a “loud-mouthed” Congress leader.
Udit Raj charged that Mayawati had expelled Anand Akash under BJP’s pressure.
Mayawati, meanwhile, appreciated social organisations working for the ‘bahujan samaj’ for condemning Udit Raj’s comments against the BSP, the Bahujan movement, and BSP’s “iron lady leadership.”
In her posts on X, she said, “Social organisations devoted to the cause of the bahujan movement strongly condemning the comments made by a loud-mouthed and spoiled Congress leader against the party, the movement, and the party’s iron lady leadership is welcomed. I appeal to people to remain vigilant against such comments.”
The BSP chief on Friday inspected the Bahujan Samaj Prerna Kendra, where the mortal remains of BSP founder Kanshiram are kept, and the party’s state office in Lucknow.
“I appeal to all to celebrate the birth anniversary of Manyavar Kanshiram Ji on March 15 with missionary zeal,” she said.
On the Uttarakhand govt sealing eleven private madrassas in Dehradun, she said that the govt should avoid such actions that are malicious, not secular, and hurt religious sentiments.
Mayawati on Sunday removed her nephew Akash Anand from all party posts, appointing his father Anand Kumar and Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam as national coordinators in his place, and said she would not name a successor in her lifetime. Kumar, however, turned down the offer.
