“The act of Abhey Singh is against the Guru-Sishya (disciple) tradition and sanyaas. If you have disrespected your guru, you have shown that you don’t have any respect for the Sanatan Dharma or the akhara. Discipline is paramount in Juna Akhara, and no one is above it, not me nor anyone like Singh,” said chief patron of Juna Akhara, Mahant Hari Giri.
Every member of the akhara has to live with discipline, but he (Singh) did not follow it and broke the tradition of the akhara by using abusive language against his guru. Not only the guru, but no one is allowed to speak against a fellow seer.
In view of this, the disciplinary committee of the akhara recommended action against him, and thus he was expelled from the akhara, added Giri.
The chief patron added that he would not be allowed to enter the akhara and will remain expelled until he learns to respect his guru and the discipline of the akhara. Engineer Baba Abhey Singh, a disciple of Mahant Someshwar Puri of Juna Akhara, left his job in aerospace engineering after studying at IIT-Bombay and became a sanyasi. He is quite famous in the fair this time. Following his interview with many news channels, reel-makers and newspapers making rounds on the internet, he became an overnight celebrity.
With over a lakh followers on Instagram, in one of his reels, he called his father ‘Hiranyakashyap’ (a mythological demon king) and his guru ‘Pagal’ (insane) following a rift between both of them. Soon after this, clamour seeking action against him began to grow in the akhara, and the Saturday night, the decision to expel him was taken.
Earlier, even his guru had expelled him from the camp, but ‘IITian Bab’a did not leave the fair and took shelter in the camp of another seer.
