Prime Minister Narendra Modi makes debut on Donald Trump's Truth Social with this photograph and 'thanks note'

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has joined Truth Social, the social media platform owned by the group backed by US President Donald Trump. Truth Social is owned by Trump Media and Technology Group. PM Modi’s debut on social media platform Truth Social comes on the day when President Trump shared the YouTube link of the Prime Minister’s podcast with Lex Fridman on his social media handle. Some political analysts have termed PM Modi joining Truth Social as a sign of his close bond with the US President Donald Trump.

In his very first post on Truth Social, PM Modi wrote, “Delighted to be on Truth Social! Looking forward to interacting with all the passionate voices here and engaging in meaningful conversations in the times to come.” Along with the post, PM Modi also posted his photograph with Trump at the ‘Howdy Modi‘ event in Houston in 2019.

PM Modi thanked the US President for sharing his podcast link

PM Modi spoke about the year 2019’s ‘Howdy Modi’ event during his three-hour-plus interaction with Fridman. Asked what he likes about Trump, PM recalled that during his first term, Trump ignored security protocol and agreed to his request to take a lap around the stadium hosting the ‘Howdy Modi’ event. “I was touched by his courage and his trust in me,” he said, noting that Trump conveyed similar courage following the assassination attempt on him during the presidential campaign last year.
PM Modi said that Trump believes in “America First”, and his motto is “nation first” or “India first”. He added that this similar spirit makes them connect well.
In a separate post responding to Trump, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude to the U.S. President for sharing his conversation with Fridman. “Thank you, my friend, President Trump. I discussed a wide range of topics, including my life journey, India’s civilizational perspective, global issues, and more,” Modi wrote on Truth Social.
PM Modi also shared an update about his meeting with the US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard on the platform. Gabbard arrived in India as part of her multi-nation visit, marking her first trip to the country since assuming office as the US Director of National Intelligence. The Asia leg of her trip will conclude with her address at the Raisina Dialogue on March 18.
Her visit follows Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s trip to the US in February, where he met Gabbard and praised her as a “strong votary” of India-US friendship. Gabbard called it an “honor” to welcome PM Modi and expressed her commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
