US President Donald Trump is returning to familiar territory, both as president and as a golfer. Sources have revealed to Page Six that Trump will once again spend significant time at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, which will serve as his “Winter White House” during his second term.
“Trump likes being in Palm Beach. He enjoys playing golf and feels comfortable hosting world leaders and high-profile guests at Mar-a-Lago,” a source said. “He’s always been someone who gets business done on the golf course.”
The plan mirrors Trump’s habits during his first presidency when he often used the estate for diplomatic meetings and downtime. Reports from 2020 noted that during his first term, Trump visited Trump-branded properties 418 times and spent 307 days at golf clubs, with notable moments including a round of golf with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in 2017.
Golfing priorities adjusted – or not?
While Trump previously signalled he would scale back his golf outings in his second term, focusing instead on the country’s needs, sources suggest he has softened on this promise.
An insider told Page Six last year, “He planned to focus on the country more than his handicap, but it was never a ‘no golf ever’ situation.” The source added that Trump would prioritise occasional games with figures like Elon Musk or Senator Lindsey Graham, while regular weekly games with his usual club friends would be put on hold “until the country is back on track.”
However, recent reports suggest Trump may have taken a mulligan on that plan, opting to continue incorporating golf into his schedule while also managing presidential duties.

Throughout his political career, Trump has utilised golf courses as venues for diplomacy and strategy. The business mogul owns 18 golf properties internationally, giving him ample opportunity to tee off with world leaders and influencers alike.
