This sub-inspector in digital khaki blends technology and relatability, signalling a fresh chapter in community engagement. At the helm of this technological leap is ADGP (Bareilly zone) Ramit Sharma, whose vision has turned Stan Lee’s multiverse imagination into real-world ingenuity, proving that you don’t need to be a genius billionaire playboy philanthropist like Stark or Bruce Wayne to craft something so innovative.
Jarvis’s digital persona exudes all the charisma of a superhero, blending Stark’s tech-savviness with Spider-Man’s relatability. A confident demeanour and a quick wit make him a standout on social media platforms, where he serves as a virtual public relations officer for the Bareilly Zone police.
“JARVIS, in the comics, is an intelligent natural language user interface created by Tony Stark to tackle challenges in extraordinary ways,” Sharma said. “In our context, SI Jarvis is a virtual public relations officer — our very own digital Avenger.”
Bringing Jarvis to life wasn’t as simple as snapping one’s fingers like Thanos. Sharma, an IIT-Kanpur graduate in electrical engineering, spent months refining every detail.
“From perfecting the AI’s voice to designing Jarvis’s appearance, it involved a lot of trial and error,” he said. “We had to carefully calibrate every element to ensure the entity resonated with the public. The result? A digital ally that’s more of friendly-neighbourhood Spider-Man than Robocop, bringing the human touch to AI.”
The Jarvis experiment is more than a one-off. Sharma envisions an entire Justice League-like lineup of AI sentinels, each tailored to specific community needs. “For instance, we may create a young, approachable friend to interact with teenagers and teach them about their rights and roles in society,” Sharma said. “Jarvis will also work on the streets, guiding commuters on traffic rules.”
