Elon Musk wants Wikipedia funding stopped until ...

Elon Musk has once again criticised Wikipedia. The criticism came following a public appearance at the post-inauguration event of Donald Trump where Musk performed a gesture that some observers interpreted as resembling the infamous Nazi salute.
“Defund Wikipedia until balance is restored!” Musk said in a reply to a post on X that criticised Wikipedia’s “mentions of political extremism in English Wikipedia”.

“Wikipedia is completely ideologically captured. Deserves $0 in donations until they re-balance,” the post read. The conversation started after the online platform described a gesture he made as a “Nazi salute.”

“Dirty tricks…”: Musk to trolls

Musk has already denied the accusations, stating that the comparison is inaccurate, dubbing the scenario “dirty tricks”.
Previously, the tech billionaire responded to “Nazi Salute” claims, calling them ‘dirty tricks’. In an X (formerly Twitter) post, Musk wrote “Frankly, they need better dirty tricks”, adding “The “everyone is Hitler” attack is sooo tired 😴”.

Elon Musk mounts attack on Wikipedia

Elon Musk previously called upon his followers to cease donations to the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization behind Wikipedia, citing concerns over the foundation’s spending on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
Musk’s call came in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), where he has nearly 210 million followers. He wrote, “Stop donating to Wokepedia until they restore balance to their editing authority,” responding to a post from the right-wing account “Libs of TikTok.”
This incident comes shortly after Musk’s controversial offer to donate $1 billion to Wikipedia under the condition that it change its name to “Dickipedia.”
