As Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff welcomed JD Vance and Usha to the White House hours before the inauguration, social media users observed that Kamala Harris must be seething doing the formality, posing for the photos — especially after she ‘resisted’ meeting JD Vance and family to familiarize them with the VP house.
JD Vamnce, Usha Vance and their three children will be moving into the Naval Observatory residence today after the inauguration.

Reports claimed that Kamala Harris did not extend any invitation for a formal sit-down or tour to the Vances. In November, Usha Vance reached out to the staff of the Second husband Doug Emhoff seeking details about the house — on ways to childproof it as all three of Vance’s children are under the age of eight.
The request was initially resisted by a political appointee of Kamala Harris, a CBS report said. But then there were communications between Vance’s team and the Navy who oversee the residence. Usha Vance spoke with Doug Emhoff for about 40 minutes. The report said childproofing arrangements already started under the watch of Harris.
For Harris too, the transition in 2021 was messy and Donald Trump did not acknowledge the election defeat and kept on asserting that the election was stolen. Kamala Harris, it was reported, did not get a tour of the VO house either though Mike Pence’s staff said Kamala Harris was secretly extended an invitation without the knowledge of Donald Trump.
As JD Vance arrived at the White House, he was seen waiting for Usha to get down from the car while Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff too were waiting. Then they greeted each other and posed for a photograph with JD Vance standing beside Kamala Harris and Usha Vance by the side of Doug Emhoff.
