Football initiative aims to boost grassroots talent in Goa

The Goa Police, known for its talent scouting program, has teamed up with supporters to nurture young football talent in the region.
A recent training session focused on U13 and U15 players, introducing advanced drills inspired by European football academies. Participants were also provided with essential football gear, including shoes, shin pads, and other equipment, to help them compete at a higher level.
Goa has long been a hub for football in India, but many young players face barriers such as lack of access to structured training and financial constraints.
Aran Hooda, a 15-year-old football enthusiast from London, has teamed up with the Goa Police to help young footballers from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in Goa.
The collaboration between the Goa Police and external supporters is seen as a step toward bridging this gap, offering talented players opportunities to excel.
“Identifying and nurturing grassroots talent is crucial for the future of Indian football,” said Goa’s Director General of Police, Alok Kumar, who has been instrumental in supporting the program.
This initiative reflects a broader effort to make football more inclusive and accessible, ensuring that promising players in Goa get the support they need to pursue their dreams on the field.
