Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma says Apple killed its camera 'badly' in iPhone 16

Paytm co-founder and CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma has expressed his disappointment with the camera performance of the iPhone 16 on social media platform X. Sharma stated that he was considering switching to a Google Pixel due to the perceived decline in the iPhone’s camera performance.
“I am surprised how the iPhone killed its camera (software / app) so badly in 16. It is so bad that I am seriously thinking of a Pixel now,” Sharma said.
“Anyone else going through the same struggles?” he asked.

How the internet reacted to the Paytm CEO’s question

Sharma’s post resonated with other users, with former Apple executive Parminder Singh echoing similar sentiments.
“Similar experience. Something’s seriously wrong with either the camera or the app,” said Singh who held country sales head, head of marketing post at Apple. He has also held executive-level posts at Google.

The pixel is fab! Migrated from iphone to it.

While some followers said that Sharma should buy the [iPhone 16] Pro version, a few of them suggested Samsung’s flagship models Galaxy S24 Ultra and the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphones.
Pro le lo

I’m using Pixel 9 pro & iPhone 15pro both,
Here is what I feel:
– iPhone has better quality of apps + is overall reliable + video shooting is better than anything.
– Pixel software experience is good + camera for photos is definitely better than iPhone.

iPhone 16 camera is very bad, however 16 pro is very good

Pixel has one of the best camera hardware and software but pathetic after sales service. The product looks to be a lower quality or not suitable for India. Screen went dead once . They quoted price of phone to replace.

Both will be surpassed by the S25 Ultra.

I totally feel everyone here! My wife owns a Samsung S24 ultra or something and I take photos in both the phones but S24 is better for most photos especially the edit features. iPhone is good for video but night time photography is a nightmare in the iPhone.
