Police have formed 20 teams to track down and arrest the intruder who stabbed Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan during a burglary attempt at his upscale Bandra apartment early on Thursday. Officials are leveraging their network of informants and analyzing CCTV footage to locate the attacker. The footage, recorded at 2.33am, clearly captures the young suspect’s face as he is seen wearing a brown collared t-shirt and a red scarf or ‘gamcha,’ descending the stairs from the sixth floor of the building.
Saif Ali Khan Health Update
Khan resides on the 12th floor. In addition to Khan, Eliyamma Philip, a staff nurse at the residence, and another domestic help were injured during the attack. Police are using the footage and other evidence to pursue the suspect, who is believed to have fled the scene after the assault. The house-help who raised the alarm also sustained a minor knife injury during the incident.
Authorities continue their search for the attacker. Police believe that the intruder may have changed his clothes before fleeing the spot. Police have recorded statements of nurse Philip, house helps, the guard of the building and questioning some persons.

Attack on actor: As recounted by Eliyamma Phillip (nanny of Jehangir) to the police
- 2:00–2:30 am, Thursday: Phillip wakes up hearing sounds and notices the bathroom light is on. She assumes Kareena might have come to check on Jehangir and goes back to sleep.
- Phillip grows suspicious and gets up again. She sees the shadow of a man in a cap near the toilet.
- The intruder walks toward Jehangir’s bedroom. Phillip rushes there, and the man signals her to remain quiet.
- Intruder: “No awaz. Koi awaz nahi aur koi bahar bhi nahi jayega.”
- Phillip picks up Jehangir in her arms. The intruder lunges at her, brandishing a wooden stick and a hacksaw blade.
- Phillip is hit on the wrist but, undaunted, asks him what he wants. The intruder replies, “Money.”
- Phillip: “How much?”
- Intruder: “1 crore.”
- Amid the commotion, Jehangir slips past Phillip and leaves the room.
- Hearing Jehangir’s cries, Saif and Kareena rush out of their bedroom.
- Saif: “Who are you? What do you want?”
- The intruder attacks Saif, stabbing him six times.
- Nanny Geeta rushes out but is attacked by the intruder with the hacksaw blade.
- Everyone, barring the intruder, retreats to another room and closes the door.
