Erling Haaland extends Manchester City stay until 2034

NEW DELHI: Manchester City star Erling Haaland on Friday signed a new contract with the Premier League champions that will keep him at the club until 2034.
City announced the nine and a half year extension for the 24-year-old striker, who has netted an impressive 111 goals in 125 matches since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.
“Now I want to keep developing, keep working to get better and look to do my best to try and help us achieve more success going forward,” Haaland said in a City statement.

The Norway international will be 34 years old when the contract concludes.

“Everyone at the club is absolutely delighted that Erling has signed his new contract,” said Txiki Begiristain, City’s outgoing director of football. “The fact he is signed for so long demonstrates our commitment to him as a player, and his love of this club.”
Haaland’s extension comes as City awaits a ruling on 115 alleged breaches of Premier League financial regulations.
