The Titans, crowned IPL champions in 2022, assembled a strong 25-member squad during the mega auction held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, last year. Notable additions include South African pace ace Kagiso Rabada, England’s dynamic batter Jos Buttler, India’s star pacer Mohammed Siraj, and versatile all-rounder Washington Sundar.
Despite losing Hardik Pandya, their captain from the first two seasons, to the Mumbai Indians before the 2024 season, the franchise remains confident. The team’s core of retained players – Shubman Gill, Rashid Khan, Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia, and Shahrukh Khan – continues to provide a strong backbone for the squad.
Under the guidance of head coach Ashish Nehra and captain Shubman Gill, Gujarat Titans aim to bounce back after finishing eighth in the previous season. The team concluded IPL 2024 with 12 points from 14 matches, securing five wins, seven losses, and two no results.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians, who picked up Pandya, endured a dismal campaign, finishing at the bottom of the points table.
As the 2025 season approaches, the Gujarat Titans are determined to regain their status as one of the league’s premier teams, blending experienced talent with promising new faces.
