BJP slams AAP ahead of Delhi assembly polls: Party failed to fulfil promises, Kejriwal 'Destroyed' Delhi

Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections on February 5, the BJP launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing it of failing to deliver on key poll promises and “destroying” the city.
Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters on Sunday, Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri highlighted 10 unfulfilled promises by AAP, including cleaning the Yamuna River and making Delhi pollution-free. “Arvind Kejriwal spreads lies and makes no effort to fulfil promises made to voters,” Puri alleged.
He accused the Delhi Chief Minister of abandoning his image of simplicity by constructing a “sheesh mahal” for himself. “Kejriwal came into politics claiming he wouldn’t accept bungalows and would travel in his Wagon R, but his actions show otherwise,” Puri charged.
The BJP leader also criticized the AAP government in Punjab, alleging it had failed to curb the drug menace. “Instead of ending drugs, the drug lords in Punjab gained more energy under AAP’s watch,” he said, mocking the party’s advertisements promoting a ‘nasha mukt’ Punjab.
The BJP is looking to improve its performance in Delhi, where it won just three seats in 2015 and eight in 2020, while AAP secured 67 and 62 seats respectively in the last two Assembly elections. Votes will be counted on February 8.
