LLB student dies after falling from 7th floor at friend's party in Noida

Noida: A 23-year-old student of Amity University died after he allegedly fell off the seventh floor of a condominium in Sector 99 where he had joined some classmates for a party on Saturday.
Tapas, a resident of Ghaziabad, was studying LLB at a private university. The flat at Supreme Towers was shared by two of his classmates.
Five other students, who were at the flat when Tapas fell, had rushed the youth to a nearby hospital but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
While no suicide note has been recovered on him, Tapas’s classmate who was among the students present at the flat, has been booked for abetment of suicide under BNS Section 108 after his family submitted a complaint accusing her of harassing the youth for some time.
“The family suspects the involvement of his friends. All the angles are being thoroughly checked. We are also questioning the people present at the party. CCTV camera footage installed in the tower will also be examined,” DCP Rambadan Singh said.
Tapas was apparently unhappy after the woman had stopped talking to him, the police said.
Cops said the rear section of the residential tower where the youth’s body was recovered around 4.30 pm was still under construction. The builder had put up scaffoldings in the area and did not allow residents to go there.
Neha Bisht, who stays on the 6th floor of the tower, said she had met the boy earlier that day in the elevator. “There is construction going on in our tower currently and it is weird that the body was found in a section that is closed to people,” she said.
The body has been sent for autopsy and the report is awaited.
