KOTTAYAM: Nine more people, including a 17-year-old, were taken into custody in connection with the sexual abuse and rape of a sportsperson when she was a minor, Kerala Police said Saturday. The survivor turned 18 two months ago and had been sexually abused by more than 60 people over about four years when she was a minor. The 17-year-old male taken into custody was produced before JJB. A total of 15 people have been apprehended in five cases registered, police said. Since the incidents occurred when the survivor was a minor, provisions of Pocso Act will be invoked against the accused. Charges will also be brought under the SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
