NEW DELHI: Punjab Kings‘ promising batter Prabhsimran Singh is making headlines in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, showcasing a sensational run of form with three consecutive centuries.
After a modest start with scores of 35*, 0, and 26 in the first three matches, Prabhsimran, who represents Punjab in domestic circuit, roared back to form with a blistering 150 off just 101 balls, including 10 sixes, to guide Punjab to a commanding eight-wicket victory over Mumbai.

He didn’t stop there.
Against Saurashtra, Prabhsimran delivered another stellar performance, smashing 125 off 95 balls, and followed it up with a majestic 137 off 105 balls against Hyderabad, leading Punjab to another emphatic win. His explosive knocks earned him Player of the Match honours.
“I always believe in my game. I learn from every match I play and ensure that I don’t repeat my mistakes. My focus is to take my game forward for my team—that’s it. I also back myself. Sometimes, things don’t go your way, but you need to remain calm. I want to be consistent and keep scoring for my team. When you’re consistent, you reflect as a different player. I play according to the situation. When my team needs me in a crunch situation, I play slow and carefully take the innings forward. When my team wants more runs on the board, I don’t mind shifting to top gear,” Prabhsimran told TimesofIndia.com.
Prabhsimran, retained by Punjab Kings for Rs 4 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction, enjoys opening the innings alongside his dynamic teammate Abhishek Sharma.
In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Prabhsimran has amassed 484 runs in seven matches at a staggering average of 96.80, while Abhishek has 448 runs at an average of 64.00.
“Abhishek and I have opened numerous times for our team. We complement each other well. The best part is that we form a right-left combination, which is useful for our team and troubles the opponents. We’ve provided solid starts and led our team to many victories on numerous occasions. We appreciate each other’s batting. He is a fearless batter,” Prabhsimran said.
Prabhsimran also praised left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, who has been Punjab’s leading wicket-taker with 17 scalps in six matches.
“Arshdeep is a phenomenal player. He has the experience of playing in two World Cups and has gained a lot of exposure at the international level. The best part is that he’s a consistent performer,” said Prabhsimran.
With his teammates, Arshdeep and Abhishek, already making their mark in the senior side, Prabhsimran is putting in the hard yards to earn the privilege of wearing the India jersey.
Arshdeep has represented India in eight ODIs and 60 T20Is, while Abhishek has featured in 12 T20Is.
“Like every cricketer, my dream is also to play for India. My ultimate goal is to wear India’s colors, and I’m chasing that dream through hard work and consistent performances,” a confident Prabhsimran said.
“As I said, I want to be consistent. Everyone plays, but the one who is consistent is the one who gets noticed. I work hard and pray to God—that’s all I do,” the right-hander said.
