PM Modi will visit France in Feb to participate in an AI Summit, President Emmanuel Macron announced on Friday. According to Macron, France will be hosting what he described as a “summit of action” on February 11-12 to enable discussions on issues related to AI.
“…This (the AI summit) will enable us to have a dialogue with all the powers, IEA, US, China and major nations such as… India which has a role to play as well as the Gulf states,” he said. Macron had discussed plans to host the summit with Modi in a meeting on the margins of the G20 summit in Brazil last year.
Modi had welcomed the summit and pledged support to ensure that the event was a success. Macron’s office had announced last month that India had been invited for the summit. “India is a important country, particularly in terms of its potential to make a concrete impact on people’s lives. We look forward to India’s contributions to the summit’s various teams,” it had said.
