MEERUT: A family of five was found murdered in their locked house in Sohail Garden, Lisadi Gate area of Meerut on Thursday evening.
The victims — a mason, his wife, and their three young daughters — were discovered after neighbours broke into the house when relatives raised concerns.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Moin, who worked as a mason, his wife Asma, and their daughters Afsa, 8, Aziza, 4, and Adiba, 1.
The house, a rented 70-square-yard space, was found in complete disarray. Moin’s body was tied to a bed, while his wife and daughters were hidden in a bed storage compartment.

SSP Vipin Tada said, “Prima facie, it appears all the five were hit by a heavy object. The bodies have been taken into custody, and the cause of death will be confirmed after the postmortem report.” Mohd Irfan, a neighbour, said, “Mohammad Moin belonged to the Shahjahanpur area of Meerut.”
Rest of family was stuffed inside bed compartment
Moin had shifted to Lisadi Gate around 45 days ago. He was constructing a house for the family and was currently living in a rented house where the murder took place.
I received a call from his family in Shahjahanpur on Thursday evening asking about their whereabouts.
The house was locked from the outside, and when we broke in, it was a horrifying scene. Moin was tied to a bed, while the rest of the family was stuffed inside the bed compartment,” the neighbour said.
Police have set up a security perimeter to preserve evidence.
Investigators are questioning relatives, neighbours, and others who might provide leads on the motive behind the gruesome murders.
