'Sincere appreciation': China on India, other countries condoling death of 126 in Tibet quake

China on Wednesday expressed “sincere appreciation” for India and other nations who sent condolences over the death of 126 in Tibet earthquake.
“Since the earthquake, many countries and international organisations have extended condolences to China in various ways,” foreign ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said at a press briefing.
“We express sincere appreciation for that,” Guo added.
India had, on Tuesday, expressed condolences to the death and devastation caused by the earthquake in Tibet. “Government and people of India express condolences on the tragic loss of life and property caused by the devastating earthquake in the Tibet Autonomous Region. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families,” external affairs ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on X.
China has received condolence messages from leaders of 22 countries, including Russia, Pakistan, Nepal, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Maldives, Japan, Cuba, Venezuela, Serbia, Belarus, Spain, Italy, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Oman, Grenada, El Salvador, and Uzbekistan.
Additionally, foreign ministries from nations such as India, Brazil, Egypt, the UAE, Turkiye, Bahrain, and Iran, along with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev, and Central American Parliament President Carlos Hernandez, have also extended their condolences.
