NEW DELHI: At least four people died and 19 others sustained injuries after a Varanasi-Jaipur bus collided with a stationary truck on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway on Saturday.
The accident occurred around 5.30 am in the Fatehabad police station area.
ACP Fatehabad Amardeep Lal said, “The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination. One of the deceased persons is yet to be identified. All the injured have been sent to the hospital with the help of an ambulance.”
Among the deceased, three have been identified as Govind (68) and Ramesh (45) from Rajasthan, and Deepak Verma (40) from Agra. The identity of the fourth victim is yet to be confirmed.
Four of the injured are being treated at a private hospital, while the rest have been admitted to a government hospital.

Two women were killed, and another was injured after being struck by an unidentified vehicle in Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj district in an another incident.
The accident took place on Friday night on the Paratwal-Kaptanganj road, under the Shyam Deurwa police station limits, as three women were returning home after attending a ‘Haldi’ ceremony, police said.
Shyam Deurwa SHO Abishek Singh identified the victims as Vidyawati (45), Sakuntala (46), and Phoolmati, stating that they were hit by an unknown vehicle.
